I went from the lowest feeling in the world to the greatest feeling.

James Lay
program graduate

At 15, James Lay was homeless, isolated and abusing alcohol to numb the pain. At 40, after decades of substance use and incarceration, he discovered Life Learning Center and chose a new life for himself and his children.

There is a life beyond your past.

Ericka Schnur
program graduate

Addiction and incarceration led Ericka to the Life Learning Center, where she discovered the importance of self-care and found a new direction for her life. She has since regained custody of her children, started a career, and is enjoying a life she never thought possible.

I’m a different person than I used to be and if you give me a chance, I’ll show you.

Christina Fields
program graduate

After losing custody of her children due to a heroin addiction, Christina turned herself in and faced up to five years in prison. The judge made her a deal: recovery instead of jail. Life Learning Center was the lifeline she needed to maintain sobriety, secure stable employment and work toward reuniting with her kids.

Life Learning Center reminded me of everything that I had the power to choose.

Jennifer Mauch
program graduate

Jennifer’s addiction began after she and her husband lost their business, and it worsened when they lost custody of their children. The Life Learning Center gave her the support and tools she needed to regain control of her life and choose to put herself back on track.
